35 years later, Models play Memo Music Hall again

Tomorrow night’s gig at Memo in St.Kilda will be the first time Models band members Sean Kelly, Andrew Duffield and Mark Ferrie have been together at Memo since the filming of their first film clip on the site, way back in 1980.

Back then the theatre was leased to Pacific Films for use as a film studio. The band shot the video for the song Two People Per Square Kilometre from their debut album, AlphaBravoCharlieDeltaEchoFoxtrotGolf on a white cyclorama placed on the floor.

Directed by Tony Stephens, the film clip also appeared in the documentary of the band, Pop Movie, which last screened in 2009 as part of the post-punk mixtape series of the Melbourne International Film Festival.

Production stills kindly supplied by Ray Argall, and are the property of Piccolo Films.

Andrew’s beloved EMS AKS synth, visible in the far left of this picture, will also be appearing at the show.
